As a healthcare professional providing care to aged and disabled people, you will be required to administer the medication at some point in time. The doctor’s job comes to diagnosis and building a curing strategy, whereas your role will be to execute the strategy and medication administration will be a crucial part of it.
The program’s key highlight includes Auz Training’s excellent training facilities, infrastructure, experienced trainers and well-designed program curriculum. In a matter of days, you will get to go through the first principles of administering medication to understanding how to play your role in doing so.
If you want to build a career in healthcare services, especially focusing on elderly and disabled care in a hospital, community or a home – you have to ensure you take this course along with a diploma or certificate in aged or disabled care from Auz Training. That way, you will get to have a broad understanding of the diploma and will be able to use the skills acquired during the Medication Administration Course to perform your everyday duties with finesse.
Since the course is meant to provide very tangible and necessary skills that will help you do your job, the course is entirely designed for offline classes. As soon as you have enrolled for the course, you will be required to attend the lectures in the classroom setting. This will ensure you get an immersive experience that allows you to have both theoretical and practical understanding. Since the program is concentrated, it runs only for two days – at the end of which, you will be given a certificate of attendance.
The course principally imparts all the knowledge in two key parts:
Client Assistance
This component of the course is designed to give you comprehensive training on how to prepare your client for medication. The course starts with a primer on medication and its role in curing, followed by a basic walkthrough on the basic types of delivery methods you should be aware of.
Sometimes, at work, you will face a situation which can be termed a medication contingency. The program will take you through simulations and instructional material on how to respond in these situations, without letting panic or indecisiveness take over. This is one of the most important aspects of the program, since it trains you for something that does not frequently happen but can be life-threating, if it does. This way, the by end of the program, you will have an added value reflecting on your credentials.
Medication Effectiveness Study & Documentation
The second part of the program focuses on the administration of the intake, effectiveness and dosage of the medication. It starts with understanding the legal and medical permissible limits you should know about it, to ensure the right quantity of medication to be given in a dosage schema. Along with this, you will get to understand how does the medication work in general terms and what are the expected effects of the medicine’s intake. You will be able to debrief other people after a regular analysis of the medication’s effectiveness and also take care of all the necessary documentation.
